The hose reel technology that power NO-CRANK™

NO-CRANK™ / ReelSmart ^® hose reels are powered by water. Nothing else. This ground-breaking hose reels technology is based on the proprietary Hydro-Pro™ system which takes the water pressure and converts it into the power needed to rewind up to 175ft of garden hose.

The Hydro-Pro™ hose reel technology system is a water piston engine that works on principles similar to those of standard internal combustion engines. Like our car’s engine, the Hydro-Pro™ engine has pistons, cylinders and crank-shaft. Instead of steel it uses durable plastic. Instead of fuel, it uses standard household water pressure and instead of complexity – simplicity.

By turning the NO-CRANK’s lever after watering, the water pressure is diverted from the hose to the Hydro-Pro™ water piston engine. The water pressure moves the pistons and a simple gearing system transfers the motion to the drum which rewinds the hose. While rewinding the hose the excess water exits the water piston engine, via the exit hose, and is used to water the area near the hose reel.

The Hydro-Pro™ engine has been driving ReelSmart and NO-CRANK hose reels for more than 6 years with more than 2 million units sold and installed.

The Hydro-Pro™ system is protected by numerous patents and can only be found in Hydro-Industries’ products.
